Over the past year Optimists conducted more than 60 youth and community projects in Wihitby, directly benefitix nrearly 6,000 people. Many programs are aimed at young people, as the organization's motto is "Friend of Youth." About 60 club members at- tended the awards and induction ceremonies, including Optimist Club of Brooklin president Bian Wick and Shelley Chamberlain.
