On Oct. 24 a new offring of a cognac glass, known as "The Legacy Glass," will be available for purchase by Petro-Canada customers. Initially, there were a series of glasses which promoted the highly successful Olympie Torch Relay and established the Olympic Torch Legacy Fund te assist Canada's athietes and coaches with their athletic and educational goals. Te result has been the sale of 38,000,000 glasses to Canadians across the country and the establishment of a fund of $4 million. A percentage from each glass- sale was contributed to the fund. This year, for the first time, 100 awards have been given te individuals enrolled in fuIl-time universities, colleges or technical sehools. These individuals have demonstrated that they are athletically involved. in a Pan Arnerican or designated Olympie sport or any sport under the Canadian Federation of Sports Organizations for the Disabled. Eight coaching awards were made as well. Students attending university receive $2,000 and those attending college or a technical school receive $1,000. Coaching awards are worth $8,00. This special glass offer entails the delivery of a coupon bookiet te Canadian householdai during the week of Oct. 24 in markets runnng the promotion. Inside the boklt will be coupons which may be used tewards the purchase of this unique glass. Each' time a Petro-Canada customoer purchases 25 litres of fuel or more, and presents the attendant with a coupon, they can purchase the glass for one dollar. Ten cents from each dollar will then be contributed te the Legacy Fund. The Lega-cy Glass will be available until Jan. 16, 1989, or while supplies last. THEY GOTTA GO!!!
