WHITBY FREE PRESS, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16,1988, PAGE 11 Hache: Party of the Commonwealth opposes free trade, supports development By Adam Sikora Representing the Party of the Commonwealthy of Canada for Ontario riding in the federal election is Val Hache, a 40-year-old electrician employed by Ontario Hydro. Not a~newcomer to politics, -Hache ran, unsuccessfully, in Hamilton in the last federal election. He says his party opposes free trade, believing that it provides no freedom but rather destroys national goals. The Commonwealth are pro-development, supporting farming and construction. They are currently promoting a proposed transcontinental irriga- tion and water system, diverting water from Canada's north to drier areas.
