TRIBUTE TO CIAPLIN Eric James who first met and worked for Charlie Chaplin in 1956 and as a result of that meeting became his sole music associate until Chaplin's death in 1977, will be at the Whitby Public Library on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 7 p.m. James has a wealth of stories and anecdotes to tell and gives an intimate and hitherto untold glimpse of the man him- self. The presentation is inter- spersed with music, film and songs, sung by Eric's wife and partner, Phyllis O'Reilly, whose individual style and vocal talents were always greatly admired by Chaplin. For more information call 725-7203. Newspaper backlog in recycling By Debbie Luchuk - A backlog of newspaper has been piling up at Durham Recycling Center over the last few weeks. According to Glenda - Gies, manager of the center, this time of year is the heaviest period for newspaper collection, with extra flyers for Christmas in most papers. The situation has been complicated by the elections and the paper generated by them.
