Andrew's Family Restaurant has enjoyed unprecedented success with grand opening patrons filling the restaurant to capacity. 'We were going nuts. We were packed," said part owner Rich Newall of opening day. St. Andrew's Family Res- taurant continues in the tradi- tion of two others, in Scar- borough and Oshawa, serving British dishes such as steak and kidney pie and chips and haggis and chips. The specialty of the house is fish and chips. What the new St. Andrew's has that the others do not, is an additional menu of entrees such as chicken cordon bleu, 'St. Andrew's Burgers,' hot dogs, steaks, filet mignon and pepper steak. Other features are a take-out menu, with call-in ordering ser- vice, and a children's menu. The restaurant' is fully licensed, with a bar complete with two dart boards. The restaurant is located in the Pringle Creek Plaza at the corner of Anderson St. and Man- ning Rd. Cà lifornia Franks offers a variety of food from soups to sandwiches to pasta. There is also a kid's menu and the res- taurant has a liquor license. "Anything you want, we have it," said Plastina. The restaurant seats 66 and there is room for 30 more people on the patio. Take-out is also available and Plastina would prefer reserva- tions for those dining in. Hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. The phone number is 666- 4923. Tires, runs stolen at dealership Durham Regional Police are investigating the theft of tires and rims from two cars at the parking lot of Whitby Toyota at 1025 Dundas St. W. over the weekend.
