The teain participatd in the Port Coquitlam international bantam tournament March, 19-, 26. Players and faniily left for B.C . on March 14 and enjoyed a five-day vacation- before the tour- nament got uxiderway5h O!n opening day, Whtbytied their first gaine 3-3 -with 100 Mile House a town 500 km outside of MacKenzie in B.C. Dave Lylyk, Bilan Burke and Josh Ford each scored a goal. Scott MacDoneli was nanied the most valuable player for Whitby. The saine day, Whitby played Powell River, a small coastal town 130 km north of Vancouver. The gaine ended in a 3-1 Win, with Lylyk scoring ail three Whitby goals to- earn MVP honors. . Whitby lost 6-4 to Victoria Cougars in a hard-fought game March 21. Whitby goals were scored by Lylyk and Paul Brooks, with two third period goals from MacDonell. The MVP award for the game went te, Ford. On March 22, Whitby won 6-4 in a close gaine with the St. Leonard Cougars from Quebec. Goals were scored by Lylyk, Mac- Donell, Gord Lee, Scott Gregor, Brian Medeiros and AdUam McLeod.
