'A drama with songs,' set in the mountains in Georgia, the story revolves around Annie Nations, a woman clinging to a way of life that is rapidly dis- appearing around her. The drama, by Hume Cronyn and Susan Cooper, features Joan Roantree as Aninie, Ed Daigle as Hector (Annie's father) and Boyd Tattrie as Dillard, Annie's son. Local artists' exhibit at.lbry Rowena Dylins Bridger, Mary Ellen McQuay, Sean McQuay and Ruth Read will exhibit their artwork at the Whitby Public Library on Friday, Oct. 26, 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 27, il a.m. to 4 p.m. Their exhibition will emphasize recent smnall works in an eclectic mix of styles and media. The four artists; have exhibitod their work in group and solo shows in many of the region's public and private galleries. They have each been the recipient of either Ontario or Canada Council grant0; have won awards for th& artistic quality of their work, and are teaching instructors at The Station Gallery in Whitby and, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa. Her recent work in, watercolors and mixed media explores images found during a Symphony holds raffle A major fundraising venture by the directors of the Oshawa Symphony Orchestra', Association during the current season is a raffle. The prize is a limited edition fine art print entitled 'Eagle's Rest' AI by renowned wildlife artist Christine Marshall. The value of this framed, outstanding print is $2,100.
