Derby organizers Kevin OHfalloran and Dave Imneson feit tis year's derby was one of the best as the crowds were large and the competition was stiff. Whitby scored six runs ini the Seniors -stili in2ind Whitby Spruce Villa main- tained a hold on second place in EOBA senior basebaîl with a win and a losa in recent gaines. Scott Burnett hit a home run and was the winning pitcher in a 10-7 decision over Port Hope- Steve Donner and Tom Brabin p rovided relief help fo r Burnett. Jody Turner had the hits and Trevor Beggs and Doug Shearer each had two as the Whitby offenoe came alive. The offenoe wasn't nearly 60 prominent in a 7-4 loss to Scar- boroueh. WATTERS ON EOBA TF-AM Not playing for the Whitby teai in the two gaines was Jamie Watters, who had earned a spot on the Eastern Ontario Basebail Association (EOBA) teami that competed in the Blue Jays tournament for ail-star youth teains. Watters was the starting pit- cher for the EOBA teamn in a gaine against Toronto. Watters pitched well in a 3-1 loss to the eventual tournament champions. The tournament involved ail- star teains from eight regions in Ontario. The EOBA team, edged Nia- gara district 4-3 in their first gaine at the Skydome. EOBA then lost to Toronto before defeating Western Coun- ties 7-2. Dave Imeson, Whitby teai manager, was a coach for the EOBA teain managed by Dave Bemina.
