Roberts Higth School, 399 Chaleur Ave., Odsh- awa. Ontario teamn players will offer instruction in basic skills at the dlinic, to be held frorn 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Canada's national tearn coach will supervise the dlinic. Cost for the cinic is $10. With spring now upon us, summuer is just around the corner. And with the change to warrner weather cornes to Durham College 'Summer Sport Camps' program. Camps are rea<dy to go again, with the addition of baseball to the lineup. This. summer will mark the sixth year of the successfulprga which began in 1987 with Iasktbal only. The camps bave'now groU from one sport and two weelcto a '92 lineup that includes volleyball, squash, tennis, socer, basebail and basketball over 10 weeks and involvlng close to 500 children.' The camps cater te- children between ages 9 and. 13 for basketball, soccer and basebal and ages 9 te, 17 for volleyball, tennis and s.quash. No experience is necessaryte register except for the second week of tennis <afternoon session) which caters te the intermediate player. There is- an exporienced coaching staff comprised of tep high school and college coaches from the region. Emêhasinhithe week-long camps is on individual attention. The camps feature drills on basic fundamentals, conditioning programs, written .evaluation, team play, contesta, ;,portsnxaship, ainstructional fiin, ams wads% freeNIKE T-shirt, and a special week-ending barbecue. Each camper aloo receives as a bonus a free swnmer membership te, the athletic complex. The camps are sponsored by NIKE, Coca-Cola and Gatorade, and coes for the one-week camps are as folows: basketbll, volleyball and basebali, $110; tennis, squash and soccer, $75 The Lakeshore Women's Field Lacrosse League will hold regist- ration on Saturday, Aprfi 25, 10 a.rn. to, 2 p.m. at G.L Roberts high echool, Oshawa, and on Saturday, Ma 2,9 a.m. te 3 p.m. at Harwood Plaza in Ajax. The league, for ages 13 and over, is for any level of player -- beginner, intermediate and senior. Anyone interested need not have experience. The April 25 registration at G.L. Roberts will include an in- struction clinic by members of the provincial team, which in- cludes Ann Windover of Whitby and Margot Jacobs of Brooklin.y The league had three teamns last year -- two from Ajax and one from Whitby -- and hopes te add a fourth teamn, frorn Oshawa, this year.
