BROKI 65-41a -à I à ~iu I . à & -a. .-ià The demolition derby will take place Saturday, June 6 at 8 p.m. at the racetrack and ýwill featue 30 cars within a 45-ft. widey 150-ft. long course enclosed by hydro poles, says Eldon Werry, chair, of the demolition derby organizing committee. There will be 10 drivers ini three separate heats, with the goal to bang and smash the other cars until a vehicle can't run any more or is pushed off the course. When there are on ly two cars left in each heat, the two winners move on to the final heat race..' .Werry says an additional heat will take place involving any cars that were elirmnated in the original heat but stili running. The final heat will have eight cars gunning for a main trophy and cash prize, he says. There will also be another trophy for the best looking car. . The main rale is that no driver wilI be allowed to hit another car on the driver's side without being disqualified. This is the third year for the increasingly popular event. No more entries are being accepted beyond the first 30 cars already signed up for the competition, he says.. Werry says for the first time in many years, a stunt show wiII be added to the fair -schedule this year. 1 The show will be presented by Paul Riddell Productions on Thursday, June 4 starting at 8 p.m., at the'racetrack. A variety of stunts, such as cars being driven on the side on two wheels and cars going over ranips, will be just some, of the big action events to be featured for the stunt show, he says.
