Theme of fair parade '6Let"s Celebrate Canada Byl 1Maoir io0Boueh er 'Let's Celebrate Canada-125' is the theme of this year's Brooklin Spring Fair parade on Saturday, June U beginning at 10:30 a.m. The parade will . start at St. Leo's School and make ita way down Baldwin St., to Roebuck St., Cassels Rd., down Simce St. to Winchester Rd., to Anderson Rd. and down te the fairground, says Sharon Macinnon, chair of the parade committee. Approximately 15 floats, six bands and two maorette groups are expected tombe part of- this year's'parade, she says. One of the changes ini 1992 will see ail members of Whitby council on one float inistead of each councillor in a VIP cars, she says. Local peliticians such as Durham riding MP Ross Stevenson and Durham East MPP Gord Milis willi also be participating ini the parade, she says. There wiil aise be a part of the parade dedicated te, children, with a variety of prizes te be won. MacKinnon says there are four categories: age 5 and under, age 6 te 8, age 9 te, 14, and age 15 and over.* They wiIl compete in categoriesa such as best decorated manual transport 'and- rider (including wheelbarrows), fancy dressed frolic, best decorated battery-operated vehicie and -rider, beat decorated bike and rider,' and best decorated pet and handier.
