We hop e to dovelop an overaîl policy or the waterfront," said Yew. The study wiII address a wide- range of issues pertaining to the waterfront, Yew said. These will include public access to the lakefront, protect- ing the environment, housing, tourism, and commercial and in- dustrial uses. Since many of these potential uses are not entirely compatible, Yew said the study will h ave to determine how ail can ho acco- modated, if possible. He said some features of Dur- ham's waterfront such as Osh- awa's Second Marsh and Whitby's Lynde Creek Marsh must be protected, for example.
