Gold for corps-members The North- wind Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps performed at the Ontario Drum Corps The a en with each of the entrants in a preiminary compe- tition against" somne of the best drumn corps musicians across Ontario. The three highest scores within each category qualified for the night finals. Under director Derrick Bertrand, lead brass instructor, the Rebels entered musicians in six different categories. Out of the six categories, five qualified for the finals. The finalists received the foilowing scores: Louise Farrar, solo flugal, gold, 94.87 per cent; Geof Jones, solo baritone, gold, 94.87 per cent; Shane Perry, solo contra base, silver, 92.2 per cent: Jonathan Landon, solo percussion set, gold, 80.6 per cent; Anthony Scheltans, Geof Jones, Barb Nelson, Tony Labelle, Shane Perry and Louise Farrar, each won gold, small brass ensemble, 92.2 per cent. Cory Smith and Cynthia Fallows received scores of 82.5 per cent and 76 per cent respectively in the solo soprano preliminaries.
