This summer will mark the seventh year of the prograni which began in 1987. Camps have grown froz one sport and two weeks, te the 1993 lineup that includes volleyball, tennis, soccer, basebail and basketball, incorporating 10 weeks and close te 5600 children. Judging from early registration figures, the 1993 sports camps will becoTne the largest ever. Registration has skyrocketed this year in virtually every sport. The prograin caters to, children tbetween ages 9 and 13 for basketball, soccer and basebali and ages 9 te 17 for volleyball, tennis and squash. No experience is necessary to register except for the second week of tennis (afternoon session) that caters te intermnediate players. Backed with an experienced coaching staff comprised of top high qchool and college conches from the region, it is expected the '93 camnp s te continue te provide an excellent leamning experience. Emphasis in the week-long camps focuses on individual attention, with a camp ratio of 10 children/coach. The camps feature drills on basic fundamentals, certîficates, team play, contests, sportsman- ship, instruction films, awards, free Nike T-shirt and a special bonus (free summer membership te the athletic complex). "Providing an affordable and fun learning experience, along with giving children a chance te meet new friends, is our goal of the entire summer camp program," states Ken Babcock.
