By Cheryl-Ann MacKesrn This year's pet show will ba located at the tennis courts on the fairgrounds so there will be lots of room for owners and pets to 'strut dieir stuif.' Proud owners of ail types of pets may bring their pets out on Sunday, June 6. The show starts at 1 p.m., with free registration starting at noon. The tocus is on fun at the pet show, whicii is sponsorad by Mitchell Brothers Building Supplies in Brooklin. Those aged 16 and under are wekèome to showoff their pets --whatever kind they might be. There is a category for dogs only, in the categories of most appropriate name, most lika owner, hest 'shake a paw,' bast sit down, lie down, roll over, and hast trick other than thosejust mentioned. There are also four open categories for pets other than dogs which include hast trick, most appropriate name, most like owner and most unusual. There will ha trophias for each category and ribbons l'or al entrants. Take a break at the colouring event By Cheryl-Aun MacKean After competing in al of the shows, riding on ail the rides and viewing the exhihits, parents and childran can take a rost at the colouring event. "It's a raally good time for parents and families to take a break," says Liz Mitchell, chair of the event. "Whether the sun is shining or it's raining, it is also a good time to g et out of aither for a little while'" The annunl even t has four age categories for children. "I changed it (catagories) frorn last year hacause there were too rnany in one group and too littie in another,» says Mitchell. This year the age groups are 3 and under, 4 and 5, 6 to 8 and 9to 13. Children who enter the colouring event will have a number of colouring instruments to chose from including crayons, markers and pencil crayons. Mitchell also adds that there will ha chairs to sit on and a play area for children. Ghildren may write an educational quiz, and glasses of milk can ha purchased. The picture that children will be colouring is based on this year's Brooklin'Spring Fair theme, 'Fun on the Farm.' Mitchell also adds that last year there were about 200 entries. The event will not ha judged. uWere calling it an avent instead of a contest." Instead, three entries from each age group will ha drawn from a box at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Prizes will ha donated hy Binne & Smith (Canada Ltd.), who are the m anufacturars of Crayol a products. The colouring event will take place on both Saturday, June 5 from noon until 7 p.m., and on Sunday, June 6 from noon until 2 p. "It's a nice pit stop for the family," says Mitchell.
