The L-shaped facilîty wilI be 33 400 squr feet in size, and will be anhred by a 17,000 square foot No-Frilîs food store, A a 4,000 square foot Scotia Bank branch. Other stores planned for the plaza include a drug store, movie video rentaI store, hair salon, dry cleaning business, restaurant and med ical/dental clinic. No-Frilîs bas another Whitby location, on Brock Street South.- According to Lou DeCosimno, who is the project manager for IPOF Properties Inc., the No- Frilîs store is '"the kind of store for the nineties.» Whitby Mayor Tom Edwards says that there is no op position to the plaza in the Thickson and Dryden area. The plaza will ser- vice more than 400 housing units in the area. The plaza is expected to cost $1,720,000 to build. The stores in the plaza will employ about 110 fuli-time and part-time people. PenEquity Corporation has worked on several projects in the Toronto area and in Ottawa, but this is their first project in Whitby. The plaza is expected to be ready to open in the faîl of 1993.
