The studenta of Trafalgar have been preparing for the upcoming carol service which wiil takte place on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. The girls have been woring bard te help their plays comne together. The>' will ha performed tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. at the castle. The plays te hoe presented as «She Stoops te, Conquer,' performed by Hare House; 'Planet Rlations,' by Carter Hanse; 'inse the Blood off my Toga' byMxelHue there wl ieh a production by Farewell House. It should ha an entertaininig even*ing for ail. The past weekend at Trafalgar was indeed a ver>' festive one. Thue Christmas formai took place last Saturday and was attended b>' many Trafalgar studenta and their escorta in formai attire. It was a lovly evening, and the decorations put up by numerous volunteers created a warm atmosphere throughout the castle. Our social conveners, Patricia Genco and Torry Pollitt, did a wonderful job in organizing the formai, and special thanks goes eut te ail who helped make it a succesa. Spea)cing of successes, the Trafalgar bazaar was held Nov. 4. The bazear raised money for charities such as World Vision, Anmnesty International, Sick Children's Hospital and St John Bosco Children's Home. Our head of student fellowship, Robyn Kéon, did a great job in organizing this event, with outstanding help froin her assistant, Linda Chien. A variet>' of booths were set up around the school, including a bake table, environmnental table and an international table. Two fashion shows were performed in the afternoon, featuring modèes frein Trafalgar who displayed clothes from different stores in the area. There was a large turnout, and we raised aimait $5,000. It bas been a busy month at Trafalgar. Once house plays are over, we can ail look forward te the upcomning exanis! Sohools concert Thursday The annual Fanuily of Schools Concert will ha held on Thursday nigbt, Nov. 25 at Henry Street High School. 'Music in our Lives' is the theme cf this year's show, in which each of the seven partici- patinýg sehools will sing or play' music from a different era from the thirties te the nineties. Performing wilha the senior and jnor b an ds from Henry, the band, frein Col. J.E. Farewell Public School, and choira from Kathleen Rowe West- Lynde R.A. Sennett, Palmerston and E.A. Fairnuan public ichools. Admission is free. The conceri; hagins at 7 p.m. FOR CAREER INFO A day at work for students The Durham Board of Education wiil initiate 'Take a Student to Work' day on Tuesday, Nov. 30. The idea for the project is based on a tsuccessfiu1 venture by the Ms. Foundation of New York which held a day -for, female students to attend work with parents, friends and teachers. The board wants te offer the opportunity to both male and female Grade 9 students to gather valid information about careers and career-related choices that face students as early as Februar>' 1994. Secret sources have conflded te me that it's been a long and gruelling production, with everyone juglig schoolwork and families, plus evening and weekend rehearsals. One- student even joked te me tbat she's learned te dance and read her ISU booklet at the sanie time. Everybody's hard work will pay off, as PIn sure Joseph will heaa huge success. Joseph ma>' ha dominating the news in the halls these days, but lot's net forget everything else that's gaing on. Promn tickets are currenti>' on sale. A deposit of $50 per couple is required te hold the tickets. These will oni>' ha on sale for the rest of this weelc, and the>' are selling eut fast. Aise, this week there are auditions for the airband event te ha held Dec. 2. The staff of Final Word remind everyone that it is getting ver>' close te Christmas.
