In the catalogue vihich accompanies the exhibition, gallery directer Joan Murray says: "He is a painter viho leaps in head-first te paint vihat possesses him, an exuberant paradise, partly of his imagination, amicably inhabited by ducks, deer, rabbits and bears, knights, pioneere, even boating parties. Hie was born in England and trained in the late 1950s at Corsham Court in Bath, the Brighton College of Art followed by studies in Rome. Hie influences include teachers such as William Scott and Howard Hodgin. Reeves worked in the art and antique business in London, Toronto and New York with J. Garvin Mecking. Until 1992, he dealt in antiques on Queen Street East, Toronto.
