This led to, a final gamo with Oshawa, with Whitby starting strong and skating te a 6-2 victory. Leading the scoring was Corrine Richter with give goals, seven assista. Jeifs assisted on Hanxer's last twe goals, and Church, Hamner and Verenica Johnson aIse earned assista. Whtby juniors defeat Pickering The Whitby Midas Muffler junior B ringette team scored an impreasive 6-1 victory ever Pickering on Seturday. Pickering scored the firat goal. Whitby goalie Temnara Wiesiolek was atrong in net and held the teani until they could get their attack going. Goals by Lindsey Millard and Tanya Campeeu gave Whitby a 2-1 lead at the end of the firat period. Whitby camne eut flying in the second and broke the game open with goals by Brea Blight, Angela Dunn, Millard with her second and Catie Challoner. Whitby struck back less than a minute later as Witruk converted a pretty set-up pass by Kawasaki te tie mattersaet 1-1. York Milîs enswered almoat immediately te regain their one-goal margin. Early in the second pEriod Whitby knotted the score on a goal by Turkington with assista going te, Rainey and M.T. Walten. Juat over a minute leter Clark scored with the assist by Fortier as the Kinsmen took a 3-2 lead. York Milîs fought back agein te, tie the gaine at 3-3. Seventeen seconds later Witby teok the lead for good on a goal by Gubbela, assisted by Rainey. York Milis pressed through the rest of the second period and well inte the third in an effort te get the equalizer. Netminder Steve Pigrain was up te the task, however, as he continually stymnied ail the opposition scoing threats. Midway through the third period Whitby padded their lead en M.T. Walten'a goal, with the essiat going te Rainey. Turkington, on a nifty solo effort, cempleted the scoring in a hard-fought 6-3 victery. Meving on te the semi-final Whitby faced Chinguacousy. The game featured aggressive checking and crunching body checks by two equally deterniined, evenly matehed teamas. Playing perhaps their best hockey of the season, Whitby jumped eut te a 1-0 lead on a goal by Turkingten, assisted by M.C. Walton. Action was end-te- end until Chinguacousy evened the scored late in the firat. Early in the second Whitby recaptured the lead on a marker by Clark, assisted by M.T. Walton. Chinguacousy fought determined te emerge with the victery. Backed by outstanding goaltending from Andrew Gubbels who repeatedlly thwarted Markham scoring chances, Whitby took an early 2-0 lead inte the second period. Witruk,ý on an assist by Fortier, scored first, followed by Cameron Munro on a pass from Turkington. Whitby counted the only goal of the second frame on a solo effort by M.T. Walton.
