Trasher who has cerebral palsy, had a firat-place finish and two tiird-place finishes at a competition in Tampa, Florida in October. But after a series of reviews by CP Sports of those results Thrasher, 19, only found out recently that hie and the national champion from. Quebec would be the only CP athietes from Canada competing in the world event. Thrasher will race the 20-kilometre, 10 km, 5 km and 1 km events -- despite only racing the 1.5 km, 3 km and 5 km events in Tampa. He is especially focusing on the 5 km race, the only one ini the CPS category that will be at the Parolympics in Atlanta, Ga. in 1996. He has been training extensively with the Oshawa Racquet- bail Club and with coach Karen Briard, an Ajax teacher.
