Issues such as- single parenting, coping skills, and study methods are discussed. DASE is celebrating its 1Oth anniversary this inonth and will hold an open house on May 18 in Pickering and May 19 in Oshawa, froni 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anniversary watches with the DASE logo were sold for $59.95 from April 27 to May 2. Student council has Prom 1994, 'A Night of Shooting Stars,' well underway. On June 3, DASE students will be celebrating the prom at the Carribean Cultural Centre, complete with a sound and light show provided by Gary McEwen. W. are looking forward te this event. Carl McAlonen, a DASE student, says, "Ive waited this long te graduate, there is no way I would miss this prom." The physical education class will hold the annual 'Kid's Picnic' on Friday, June 10 for the children of DASE students. DASE students have volunteered to, help the Oshawa Olympic Wrestling Club with their 'Stars and Stripes' Fiesta pavilion. Whtby Free Press By Nancy Cotter, head ibrary resource SINCLAIR SECONDARY SCHOOL Congratulations this week te, Mariete Rozon -- head of girls' Physical education, and te Bill Walters, head of boys' physical education, for ail their hard work at canvassing, collating and researching ail the information needed te, result in a naine for the Sinclair teains in preparation for Septeniber. The ballots have been cast, the voting is done ... and the winner is ... Sinclair Secondary School, home of the Sinclair Celtics. Sporting offical school clours -- forest green and blue with highlight accents of red and gold -- our teains will be ready to compete in true Celtic forin, in fashionable attire in September. Not to fret, our logo presentation will be creative and original, we're not relying on the Boston trends. Sportswear will be available for purchase as early as latte August when we finally meet at the barbecue and also tour the school. For those talented foîke, you are challenged te create an original design with one of your favourite teains or clubs in mind. Now that you know the colours and the naine, accept the challenge and get your work te us. We could be wearing your designs when next w. meet. Students, would you like te b. trained as an anibassadar? Responsibiities would include your participation in a training session in June, on site, and again in August and throughout the sehool year to assist with the rnany visits and tours that Sinclair wiII b. hosting. Prerequisites for this rewarding position include a friendly persona]ity, the ability to talk freely with people, Sinclair enthusiasin, a sense of direction -- just so you can lead tours like a pro with littie experience yourself.
