The orchestra will be joined by the Durham Philharmonic Choir, the Kingsway College Symphonic Choir, the St. John's Anglican Church Choir of Whitby, and the College Park Elementary School Choir. In all, 150 singers will be on stage. A highlight of the prograrm will be 'Brother Heinrich's Christmas,' by Rutter. This fable with music features a monk and a donkey, and is suited to a young audience. The large choir will sing 'Sir Christemas' by Mathias, 'In the Stable' by Posegate and 'Christmas Day' by Holst. Each of the three pieces will be led by one of the guest choral conductors. In 'Christmas Day,' the choir imitates the sound of carolers. The audience will be invited to join the choir and orchestra in the carol sing-along portion of the program. Also on the program is Corelli's Concerto Grosso, opus 6, #8 in G minor, played by the orchestra alone.
