The stary is set on Christmnas Eve, with Bert and Bessie Strong eagerly awaiting the arrivai of their youngest son and bis family. When it looks like they xight not arrive, Bert and Bessie console themselves counting their blessings with memories -of tbeir first Christmases together. Barbershop serenade at mail The Horseless Carriagemen Barbershop Chorus will serenade tbe Christmas season by singing in area maIls and shopping centres on Dec. 17. Featured are traditional carols and numbers by quartets. The performance at the Whitby Mail is fr-oil ta 11:30 a.m. The Horseless Carriagemea are members of tbe Society for tbe Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Sbop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. This Society is nearly 40,000 strong in North Anierica and supports speech tberapy for cbildren and aduits. The chorus meets eacb Monday night at the Glen Stewart Park Hall in Oshawa (corner of Cartier and Cabot streets). Ail men wbo enjoy singing and fellowship are invited to, attend. Vince Statari takes on the role of Bessie's husband Bert. Staltari is a graduate of the Sheridan College theatre program, wvell known for its fine singing students. Playing' their youngest counterparts are Even Taitslas and Krystina Bergevin. Tsitsias bas just completed a full season in the lead role for the Toronto Truck Theatre company's well known production of 'The Mousetrap.' Previous to this he was in Stage West's premiere of 'Leave Me Alone.' Bergevin cornes to the Cullen stage from the University of Ottawa where she received her classical training in music. Since relocating to Toronto she bas perforrned in theatre as well as film and television. The children in the audience will enjoy the puppets and participate in a Christmas Rhythm Band. 'Mature" faniily members will enjoy the sangs from the forties as well as a traditional carolling segment.
