Atoms go up 2-O The Whitby minor atoin AA hockey teain opened their playoff series with two wins against a determined Richmond Hill teain. David Leahy and Nic Jardin conniined to spring Ryan Kerr for a 2-0 Wildcat lead with 50 seconds reînaining in the second. Jardin completed the scoring for Whitby in the third. Goaltenders Chad Thibodeau and Bennett Fitzgibbon shared the shutout. In exhibition play, 79 dropped a 3-1 decision to West HÎlI Golden Hawks. Brad Smith rifled a low shot for Whitby's score. Hawks took the lead early in the third and addedl an insurance marker late in the contest to deny a Whitby comeback.
