With only 17 school days (three-and-one-ha]f weeks) left many spring sports are coming te the end of their seasons. On Friday, May 12, the boys lacrosse team. took Pereyma for a win. Goal scorers Derek Suddons, Wes Suddons, Rohan Mehta, A.J. Shannon, Ron Death, Justin Aitken and Zac Aitken led the Hawks ta score il goals over Poreyma's 3. Also on Friday, the girls rugby -teain played in the Chinguacousy Cup. In the three preliminary gaines, the Hawks outscored their opponents 32-0. At the end of the final, which consisted of even play throughout the 30-minute game, two five minute overtime peinds and four penalty kicks, the Hawks and the teamn from Barrie North decided to share the championship. On the day, Anmie Bell, Amanda Knegje, Trish Brodie, Cara Cannon and Kari Morino scored. This, past Tuesday the girls played two gaines against their arch rivais from Brock H-igh School. The rest of the student bd are counting the days until that glorious time, we like to aUoel ummer vacation, begins. The 'Cat wiil, however, require some grad goar ta commemorate bis four or five high achool years. Fortunately for ail the graduating Wildcats, the grad committeo bas extended taking orders for T-shirts and sweatshirts until Friday, May 26. After Friday, the rar wiil be but a memory. The junior boys! lacrosse teain was on the warpath last week as they massacred Central 20-1. Tii boys went a little easier on the Orangeville team, beating thein A-7. Not to b. outdone, tho girls' lacrosse tom also did some damage last week as they sysetematically beat Ajax 5-3, Hen:y 6-5>, Lorne Park 4-i,, Sinclair 11-3 and G.L Roberts 12-3. The midgot bos< rugby team defeated Henry Sret12-O last Tuesday and oarned a much-convetod spot in the LOSSA playoffs. Members of Austins artistic élite wiil b. gathered on one stage as the annual MAD (Music, Art and Draina) Festival is presented tomorrow night. Selections frin various plays are intermingloed with musical numbers from the junior and senior bondsý, and *ieces of art work wilbe on display in the cafetorium. Tickets for this powerhouse gathering of the fine arts are $5 for aduits and $3 for seniors and children. The environmental science classes took a walk on the wild aide last Wednesday as they traveiled to the Metro Zoo. Anderson CVI student Alex Kish will also attend the U.S. event, in the shoot metal com- petition. Kish won at the U.S. ovont last year.
