Whitby started the tournament with easy wins over Pelbam and Toronto Beaches. Leading Whitby in the 7-2 win over Pelham was Wayne Turcotte with- three assists. In the 13-3 win over Beaches, Whitby was- led by Derek McTeage who scored four times and added an assist, and Jared Millar with three goals and one assist. Whitby's next gaine, againat Hamilton, proved to be a tough struggle. Hamilton jumped off to a 2-0 lead within the first three minutes of the game..Turcotte finally got Whitby going, and Whitby tied the score 2-2 by the end of the first period. Each teain added two goals in the second period to keep the score even at 4-4. In the third period, Turcotte again got Whitby going, followed by a goal by Kyle MOusselman.
