The Ministry of Natural Resources will once again place baits for foxes in greenbeît areas and ravines between Hamilton and Oshawa. Both programs will run from July 4 until Sept. 1. For the fox vaccine-hait prograrn, the northern boundary from Pickering to Oshawa is Taunton Road. MNR staff and volunteers will be placing 40,000 chicken/cod baits containing rabies vaccine in ravines and near fox dens. Each bait camnes a label that reads, <Rabies vaccine, do not eat.' MNR is akIdng the public not to touch the baits. The vaccine is flot harrnful to humans -or to pets and other animals. However, it will not protect other animais from rabies. Pet owners should ensure that their pets are properly vaccinated against rabies. 'VOBITUARIES ' DONALD GORDON Donald Alexander. Gordon of 1021 King St., Whitby died on June 9, 1995 at Whitby General Hospital. He was 79. He was born in Oshawa on March 6, 1916, son of John and Nancy (Sturgess) Gordon. Ho worked at General Motors for 34 years before retiring in 1975. A World War il veteran, he was a member of the Royal Canadien Legion Branch 112. Ho is survived by bis wife Viola daughters Donna Hender- son, biana Stride, Deborah Gor- don, grandchildren Kirn, Tracy, Marianne and Michael, four great-grandchildren and sister Bernice Clark. He was predeceased by brother William. 'The fumeral service was held from the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel on June 13, Rev. Jîm Tiller officiating. Cremation.
