In the firet gae against Bowmanvoille, Whitby got going in the second period to bang home three goals, two by Scott Young and one b Todd Farquharson. Bowmýýe jumnped back in the gie ealy in te thrd period scoring two goals nine seconde apart. A late goal on an unassisted effort by Aiden Laverty sealed a 4-2 victory. Whitby next defeated Tamworth 2-1 in what was the best gae of the tournament. Farquharson. scored from the opening faceof after six seconds to stake Whitby to a quick one-goal lead. Midway through the second period Stoven Race scored. The two-goal lead was short-lived as Tamworth scored 22 seconds later to tighten up the game and set up an exciting third period. In the final period, Taznworth applied relentless pressure on Whitby but could not penetrate the Wildcat defence. The next night back at home, Whitby took on Oshawa Black Hawks in a rough and tumble affair which ended in another 5-5 saw-off. Over 50 minutes in -penalties were called although the total should have been considerably higher. Five différent Whitby players found the net as Justin Aitken, Lang, Wu, Richard and Josh Williams scored. McKenzie picked up three assists. Allison Dalby won a gold medal in the girls? under-12 singles, and a bronze in the girls' under-14 singles.
