Sondheim's music and lyrics combined with Weidnians book provide a unique perspective on attempted and auccessful assassinations of American presidents. The musical, under the direction of Tim Southwell, includes a cast of actors who portray nine assassins, extending from the pioneering John Wilkes Booth (portrayed by David Laing te the relatively recent John W. Hlinckley, Jr. (played by Kevin Polidano), a span of 116 years. Axnong those depicted in the production are Charles Guiteau, with bis gallows humour played by Chiis Francom; Leon Czolgosz, an immigrant labourer whose struggles are portrayed by Boyd test the limits" 'These really big prints began as an attempt to test the limits of the woodcut media. The artist's prints stress her use of an unusual medium today - the woodcut with its aggressive marks and goudges. Born in Windsor, Ibing, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, learned to paint in acrylics - stili a favourite medium.
