Pros ensa, a2,19 'S ongs'> is season finale for classical choral group The Durham hiarmomce Choir will present its third and final concert of the year, 'Songe_ of Love,' at Harmony United Church in Oshawa on Sunday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature guest instrumentalists Lori Genixell (harpist)1 Steven Wassmansdorf ecussionist) and Elizabeth The Durham Philharmonic will performi music selections and arrangements by Stanford, &chu- bert, Dawson, Rutter,, MacGilliv- ray and Bach. Music director is Robert Phil- lips who founded the philhar- monic three years ago. The choir is made up of professional solo- ists, singers with church or school backgrunds or music teaching experience. The 50-voice mixed choir, the only one of its kind Iocally, spe- cializes in classical choral music. This year the singerasperfor- med works by Mathias, Handel, Mozart, Rachmaninov and Finzi. Guest intrumentalists or soloista are often featured at concerts. The choir has also performed with the Oshawa Durham Orchestra.
