The choir, under the guidance of director Barbara Breckenridge, and individual presenters received an enthusia5tic response from the, capacity audience, culminating in a lengthy standing ovation for the choirs feature presentation of a medley of numbers- from the revue Crazy For You. Other highlights were a beatiuiy erormed aria from Moêmets MagiclMute sung entirely in the original Gerinan by Whitby Mayor Tom Edwards; and husband and wife duo Elizabeth and Ray Hatter, who sang AUl1IAsk of You from Phantom of the Opera as if they. were, auditioning roles at Torontos, Elgin Theatre.', Scottish, Irish and Engllsh melodies by the male and female sections ofthe choir and individual -psentations by Myra Whflte,Olive Roberts and Frank -ýSteacey provided an inteýr national f lavour and produoed feelings of nost 1algia among many in the audience. 1Comedic touches were added by a double quintet of female choir- members as they presented FRue. Eyes, a scary story, of a. one-eyed est and two of hisï feline buddies chasingrodenti in an old mili;, and by. a trio composed of Ollie Crockford, Harold Ellis and'Don Taylor (suitably costumed) describing why Faint Heart Neler Won Fair Lady. Roberts coerbined with Taylor to, bring down ther-bouse withý their rendition of Hannah whfle Retta Reilly- and Agnes' Coghill performed a moving duet from Les ,Miseerables. 'Singer Adriane Stewart provided a glimpse of the tial of show business with her number inm a Prima Donna. Ail of the above are. members of- the choir. A' special feature. of the aftornoon was a tap dance routine by t*o young Whitby performers, Sara Toma and Natasha Lewis. This number won them first prize at the recent Kiwanis Music Festival.
