The Pair Jeanne lu owned by Bytown Brigatino, a non- .profit ail training foundation established in 1983 by the late Captain Thomas G. Fuller. .Bufit in the Fuller's backyard on the Ottawa River betWeen 1979 and 1982, the 110-foot Brigatine has safied the oceans of the world for nearly 15 yoars, and: bas clocked more than 110,000 nautical miles. The Pair Jeanne may look traditional, but is8 bufit of steel and fibreglasa and equipped with the most up- to-date safety and lifesaving equipment. The mils are limited to 30 people, and tickets are available through the planning department of the Town of Whitby (668-5803, ext. 279). Along with the tours of the Pair Joanne, there will ho live entertainment and displays in Lake Park. During the day there'l ho music from the Whitby Brass Band, County Town Singers and a barhorshop quarte. Annie & Mo will perform as well as the Whitby Courthouse Theatre. Whitby LACAC bas put together displays on LACAC" itelf, the histoiy of the port, the waterfront waterworks pumphouse and heritage designation. The lire department will have on display an antique fire truck and a hand pump that was used at the Port Whitby lire hall. An antique police car will also ho on display. Woodcarver Paul Ward will show many oe hie worksî. A free shuttle bus la being provided by Whitby LACAC that will take passengers to the many other events.
