MIEADOWCREST PUBLIC SCHOOL NEWS Meadowcrest Public School was well represented at the final Durham Region Track and Field Meet held on June 4 with 25 pupils qualifying for the competitions. Yvonne Kurz, Diane Lehman, anne Holsey, Cameron Brown, Michael Cann and Steven Bursey ran in the races. For the jumps there were Yvonne Kurz, Diane Lehman, Tammy Kozyriackyj, Anne Jolsey, Cameron brown, Troy Mayali, and Robbîe Mason. In the shotput events were Craig Gerguson, Dale Roberts and Darryl Nicklechok. The relay teams consited of Tvonne Kurz, Heather Brown, Claire Taylor, Star Waters, and Michelle Bowers in the year old girls. Tammy Kozyriackyj, Anne Holsey, Jackie Raez, Mary-Lou Gibner and Patti Burnett were in the 13 year old group. Cameron Brown, Michael Guatto, Glen Hobbs, Troy Mayali and Shayne Fox represented the 10 year old boys with Robbie Mason, Michael Cann, Andrew Mueller, Michael Jansma and Steven Byrsey in the il year old group. At the final meet, Diane Lehman placed fourth in the long jump for il year olds and Yvonne Kurz came in third for the 10 year olds in ail Durham Region. Anne Holsey was the third highest in her high jump event for 13 year olds. Both Yvonne Kurz and Cameron Brown came in fifth in their 100 metre races for 10 year olds. Dale Roberts, an il year student took first place for the Durham Region in the shot put event while Craîg Ferguson placed third for the 10 year olds. Ail four relay teams ran in the final races at the meet. Our 10 year old girls' team placed second while both the 10 and il year old boys'teams were fifth in the finals. The 13 year old girls' team placed sixth. OTHER SCHOOL NEWS:* On June 4, the teachers of the school held a volunteer parents tea for the the parents who- have helped in the school during the year in many capacities. CLAREMONT SCHOOL REUNION The Claremont School Reunion and Homecoming Weekend will be held on June 14 and 15. Activities on Saturday include an open house at the school from 1 to 5 p.m. with Kieth Norton, MPP as guest speaker. Family day activities will be held at the Community Park, hosted by the Lions Club. A buffet supper will be served at the First baptist Church at 4:30 and 6 :30 p.m. Cail 649-2611 for reservations. The winners were awarded prizes by the Brooklin Hor- ticultural Society at the end of month meeting. The library and its staff wish to express their gratitute to the horticultural society for its interest and co-operation in this contest.
