In that September 17 ar- ticle, Emni said that he would have voted against the proposai that established Whitby's public transit ser- vice. Emm also told council that he was absent from a recent meeting of the operations committee, called to discuss bus problems, because of a storni that had torn down power linos and he felt he shoulld be on the scene as chairman of both the operations committee and the public works depar- tinent. Emm also told coundil that when be arrived late at the meeting, he was told by Bugelli that he could not comment on the buses. Bugelli replied that Emm's dlaim was "a lie."
