Buffet wants to get more involved l town's future Involvement is the future of Whitby is what the third candidate for the west ward seat on Whitby Town Council is looking for. "I've always been in- terested in the future development of Whitby and was prompted to run for council to become per- sonally involved with Whit- by's future," Lynda Buffet said. Buffet, 29, lias lived in the town for four years and operates her own business in the downtown area. Unlike one of the other j candidates seeking to unseat 1 incumbent councillor Joe Bugelli, Buffet said that the bus system is not a big issue as far as she is concerned. III don't feel this is an el-ýe- tion issue because we already have a bus system," she said. "lIt is just a matter of improving the service." Buffet added that this could be down through a series of public meetings to get the citizen's ideas of what should be done. The future is stili upper- most in Buffet's mind. When brouglit to their meeting on October 6, a basket of food containing a complete Thanksgiving meal was assembled for a family of 4 in Durham Region. The turkey was contributed through the generosity of a local food chain meat manager.
