PAGE 20, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1980, WHITBY FREE PRES SPORTS Hawks advance to semi-tfinals, with 35-O vicetory By S. GREENAWAY Free Press Staff The undefeated Henry Hawks continued their season long winnlng streak into thé Lake Ontario Secon- dary School Association quarter finals last week eliminating the Donevan Blue Devil's from further playoff contention by a score of 35-O. In what was undoubtably one of the best games the Hawks have played during a good season both offence and defensive squads con- troiled the flow of play froni the opening kickoff . Four interceptions and a fuznble recovery coupled wlth Henry's strong offence assured their win. The entire firat haif was controiled by the Hawks as the Blue Devils watched five touchdowns scored on Henry's first five posessions of the bail. Durlng the third quarter Donevan received a break when the Hawks offence fumbled the bail on a *play which dldn't qulte click. It was the only time Henry's plays dldn't quite click. As with one other scoring opportunity which the Blude Devils had they couldn't capitalize on the play. The Oshawa School's offence rnarched the bail down the field to withing field goal range only to have a pass it- nercepted. The final 12 minutes of the game say Henry mount a slow drive from their side of centre to the Blue Devil 46 yard line. A field goal at- tempt by Henry from the 46 was short and the ganie was over. John Paul Aggett scored three touchdowns for the Hawks while Paul Luchka and Peter Sirko added one TD each. Craig Borchuck kicked ail five conversions.
