The play is the story of a young girl who refuses to believe that Christmas has any real meaning, She runs away from home on Christ- mas Eve only to get lost in the forest where she learns the meaning of the holiday season through a sprinkling of magic when the animals give their interpretation of its signifigance. This progressional theatre production is for the entire family. Tickets are available at Children's Desk during regular hours. HOLIDAY PROGRAMS On December 29, from 2 to 4 p.m., th eWhitby Public Library will hold a games afternoon. OPEN HOUSE The Whitby Historical Society will host an open house at the Whitby (Lynde House) Museum on the cor- ner of Dundas Street West and D'Hiller Street - on December 17 and 18 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and on December 20 and 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. BOTTLE DRIVE The Sixth Whitby Boy Scouts will be holding a bot- tle drive on Saturday, January 3, 1981. The drive will be used to raise money so that the boys can attend the Canadian Jamboree that will be held in Calgary, Alberta next July. CONCERT The County Town Singers present their 13th annual Christmas Concert, on December 15 at 8:15 p.m. at All Saint's Anglican Church on Dundas Street. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 forsenior citizens and children under 12 and are available at Middletons and Fashions 126 in downtown Whitby. However, the Whitby Brass Band will not be ap- pearing at the concert as previously announced because of a conflict in scheduling. CHRISTMAS CAROL The Whitby Theatre Com- pany Youth Group will present their production of "À Christmas Carol" December 10 (tonight) through 14 in the theatre of the Whitby Centennial Building -on Centre Street South. Curtain time is 8 p.m. ex- cept for December 13 when the curtain will rise at 2 p.m. Tickets are $2 for adults, $2 for children and are available at the door or at Middletons on Dundas Street West. OLDE TYME CHRISTMAS Whitby Town Council will host their third annual Olde Tyme Christmas Party this Sunday, December 14, at the Municipal Building, 575 Rossland Road East from 2 to 4 p.m. ts, entertainment and a chance to meet Whitby's elected officials and the town staff. There is no admission charge. and everyone is welcome. INUITART During the month of January, the Whitby Public Library will be presenting the McMichael Canadian Collection of Inuit Art. This is one of the most in- teresting displays of Inuit Art to come to Whitby in recent years. The collection will be open for public viewing in the library auditorium during regular hours beginning January 6. Xmas gifts The Whitby Psychiatric Hospital will be accepting gifts and cash donations for the patients Christmas lists. It is requested that each item not be wrapped as every patient receives a number of gifts specially selected for them.
