This too is light comedy and is something you can relaxe watching, especially after a heavy Christmas dinner.. It's all about one of those marriage mix-ups where Goldie's-ex happens to be staying with ber and her new husban, alI f of which provides alI kinds of hilarious and some not-so- hilarious scenes. Walt Disney of course cari be expected to come on strong with something for the children, and this year it's The Aristocats, now playing at the Oshawa Cen- tre Cinemas and at Sheridan Mail. He not only corrals aIl the children in the country for his feature-lenght films,. he advertises them on his weekly television shows, and even though Walt is gone, his empire just keeps rolling along. The Aristocats, as the title implies, is a full-length car- toon feature, and the tale in- volves and revolves around cats of ail sizes, colours and characters. It's great kid's fare and perfect for the holidays. This movie wil be running from 2 p.m. con- tinuously during the holiday period at the Oshawa Centre and Sheridan MaIl. Another film that has been touted heavily on the tube is Popeye, with Robin Williams and Shelley Duvel. popeye is done so well by Robin and Olive Oyle equally as welI by Shelly that the movie is almost like the old cartoon strip corne to life. Added to the cast, of course, is Wimpey, the something over 300 pounds. They ail agreed it was fun working with the baby who plays the role of Sweepea. This is one movie that children and aduits alike cari enjoy, and it too is at the Oshawva Centre, and runs daily from 2 p.m. Light comnedy currently at the Oshawa Centre, is 9 to 5 with Lily Tomlin, Jane Fon- da and DolIy Parton. This one is about the lives of three office girls, their encounters and other problems, and is nothing more than a bit of fun, but at least it can't be described as depressing. Also at the Centre Cinemas is a motion picture titled The Formual with George C. Scott and Marlar Brando. This one deals with the energy crisis, gas and oul and things like that. From the preview, it suggests that both Scott and Brando are at their best, and that they make a very good team. Both these actors have long been regarded as renegades by the Hollywood set. Both are Academy Award win- ners, although both have turned them down too. We haven't seen the movie yet, but it sounds like very in- teresting entertairiment. There have been a lot of good movies during 1980 and some stinkers too. Let's hope most of themn are good next year, now that ticket prices have gone up by seve-,'-y-five cents for 1~ li '.
