- The new Ontario County Jail was built in 1957-58 and demolished in 2004 after the prisoners were moved to a new "Super Jail" in Lindsay. The jail was officially opened on June 19, 1958 by Hon. Ray Connell, Ontario Minister of Reform Institutions.
