The atten.dnnce on P ubhc W ornhip contmues, on the whole, r egufar 1~nd encouraging. Attention is ver y earn estly called to the Thursday eveniug prayer-meeting. As compared with other ~ongrega tions we have a fairly large attendance, but there are few tlu ngs that woukI more teud to increase the spirit, ual life and p ower of the cong r egation than s uch prayer-meetings as w e m'ight lrnve, if all counected with the Church would make it a matter of conscie11ce to be present. As will be seen from the Repor ts which follow, t he work of the S11.bliath School and Adult Bible Class has gone stciiclily on. M ost valuable service h1Ls been r endered by the fait hful lmnd of teach ers and ofiiocrs. The Missionary Association and the W . F . 1\1. Society have s urpassed their previous cxcellout record. The missioniLry spirit is evidently deepening. . . . Early u1t he year a Temperance Societ y was formed, wluch, it is J10ped, will go on with in~rcasin_g vigor and usefulne~s . . . L ater, a Young Peoples Society was fomwcl, wlu ch begins with a consi<lcrn.ble membership, nnd will, it is confidently expected, prove, under GOLl ,of w·hmble assistance in prornoti11g sociabili ty and stimulati ng the i.J1tcllectw1 l nncl spirit ual a<.:tivit y of the young people. The choir, under Miss Armour, as urg a11ist, have continued t o le~1d the praise accept< Lbly, and deserve the hearty thanks of th e congrega t1011 for their good ornl willing service. . 'fhe· Session would summon all t he people to renewed eonsecrat1unancl effort durirw the present year. W ith fuller individual devot ion to the Lord's crLL1S~ with m ore prayer, and with larger expectations from the Great H.ead ~f the Chnrch, should we go for ward. "The Lord has been mindful of us. H e will bless us." R. D. FB.ASER, P . MURDOCH, Moclera tor of Session. Clerk uf S ession. The contribut ions of the junior school to Missions, have been $54, an<l of th e adult B . Class, $45. These were allocated as shown in the report of the Missionary A ssociation , (IJ< tge 4). T wo new features of School work are added for t he year 1887: 1. A bil"thday box has been prepared, into which every m ember of the school is expected t o put as many cents as ye1trs old, on the Sabbath succeed ing h is or her bir·thdl.\y. At the encl of the year the proceeds will be used t o give Christmas cheer to th e poor of tho congregation or t O"\Y11, 0 1· to any other purpose the donors may d etermine. 2. The teachers, recognizing the great importance of having the youth· ful mind. well stored with Scripture, have prescribed certain verses to be committed to m emor y by the cl1il cl ren , every S:.tbhath in t he year , for which prizes will be given. In this work; and the prep1 imt ion of the lessons, and in alhnat ters connected wi th t he welfare of t he school the teach er s urgently rell uest the earnest and prayerful co-operation of all parents 1.mcl friends of the school. .J.
