The Directors of the Ontario Lo11n and Savings Company beg to submit t h iRtho fourteenth anuual r eport of th e Company for the fiscal y ear ending 31st. D ec., 188G. As will be observed from th e within s·atement the uet earnings for the year after deducting all costs and charges incurred in management, D irectors, Solicitors, and Auditors' fees, were $26,407. 82, equivalent to abU'ut S! per c-~ nt. upon the paid up capital of the Company, from wbich two half yearly dividends at th e rate of seven per cent. per annum have b een paid, and the b alance (togeth er with the sum of $465. 76 withdrawn from t h e contingent account) amounting in all to~$5,000 hAA heen catried to the credit of the Rest Account which hns now :reached the sum of $65,000. The business trausa;cteJ during tlrn t erm, covered by t he report h8s been satisfactory, although the :rate of interest procurable on mort gage loans has been less than formerly, a choic6Jr elass of securities has oeen obtained than when higher rate8 prevailed.
