Th1.1 Oshawa Vindicator tries to mislead the farmers by reprel!enting that higher prices are paid for wheat in that town than in Bowmanville, Whitby or Port Perry. One dollar has been paid for wheat ,i n Bowmanville for the past two weeka, and Mr. Vanstone has paid the same pric3 at the Tyrone mills, 8 miles north of thia t own . By an oversight in this office the market quotations were not revised last week, hut wheat should have been placed at $10.0. Bowmanville has just ns enterprising and wide-awake buyers as Oshawa, anct t hey 11re not going to permit our neighboring town to pay higher prices tha n they. One singular feature in the Vindicat or's boomerang is that the hig h~st price given for wheat in its market quotations is 00 to 95 cents, while editorially it says : " A s high as $1.02 a bushel haa been paid and $1.00 i~ offered right along." What other inference can be drawn than that the little editor is lying, Bowmanville does not want to st eal Oshawa's trade, but the busine 3 s men of that unfortunate t own had btltter advise t he cockerel that runs the Vindicator to crow truthfully when he makes an effort to rob neighboring towns of their t rade. S ome people who have no mbrits of their own, delight to raise themselves on the carcasses of others, and the Vindicator man seems to be of that kidney.
