AN INTERESTING CATTLE \ SE.-A case of much interest to farmers a;."\d d rovers was tried at the Guelph d ivis,' on court sittings on Thursday. Mr. E. Snell, drover, of Galt, purchased lait -~inter three head of cattle ftom Mr. Jobeph Day, Gueloh township, and paid $15 down. They were tc be delivered in May and on the day appointed Mr. Day brought the cattle to Guelph and weighed them on the city market scales. He turned the cattle into t he enclosure in the fair grounds and then waited on Mr. Snell for payment. Mr. Snell would not settle un til he had Mr. Day's ca ttle weighed under his own eye, as all the other farm ers had had their cattle weighed on the fair ground scales, l\fr. Snell or his agent being present. This Mr. D ay refused to do and t ook h is cattle home. Mr. Snell then brought action against him to recover the $ 15 paid and also $4 a heacl which he calculated he could have made out of the catt le. The case was tried before Judge Chadwick, who ruled that t he buyer had the ri ght to see the cattle weighed, and gave judgment i n favor of Mr. Snell fo r $27, the nmount claimed and costs.
