A successful auction sale was held at the residence of the late Mrs. George Rickard on Satur- day. Early Sunday morning the vil- lage was alerted by the mourn- fui wail of the fine siren calling the firemen to duty at Mr. Herb Cooke's. The motor on their electric pump went haywire and caused a tenrific amount of smoke throughout the house but luck- ily no flame broke out. Mn. and Mrs. E. H.
