BOWMANVILLE, -ONTARIO PAGE FmY The most falked about event of the year! ANNUAL JANUARY. Yelverton Pupils Present Enoyable Christmas Concert Yelverton's annual Christmas, Concert staged by the pupils of S.S. No. 1 under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Ruth Malcolmn aided by Mrs. Howard Malcolmn, was both literally and figuratively a "bowling" suc- cess. Admittedly school con- certs in my bachelor days were more of an endurance test than an evening of enjoyment, but whether it's the mellowing in- fluence of marriage or flot, I rather enjoyed this one. The program included s5evera] choruses lustily sung by the pupils during the evening, rhythm band selections, recita- tions galore, folk dances, skits, vocal duets and a good old fashioned spelling bee. To wind up an enjoyable ev- ening was a well presented pageant of the Nativity, preach- ing a most commendable ser- mon which we can well carry with us a gentie reminder this festive season. After singing God Save the Queen, Santa Claus was given a royal wel-1 corne as he got busy distributing gifts from a well lade6ed Christmnas tree. Rev. Bonsteel expressed the appreciation of those present for a fine performance. In the Editor's Mail Seaforth, Ont.
