The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mns. Allan Snowden of Maple Grove. The groom's fa- ther was killed in a motor ac- cident north of Brampton Sat- urday night. The mother bas since passed away. The groom's sister is still in a critical con- dition in Brampton hospital. Saturday evening, June 9, Newtonville Community Hall was packed to the doors, the occasion being a double presen- tation, one for Mr. and Mrs. Bud Jones (nee Shirley Jeffs), and one for Mr. and Mrs. Car- man Connish (nee Fae Jones). Mr. Wm. Laing, an old hand at the business, was chairman and presented a varied musical pro- gram of piano duets, vocal du - ets and vocal trio. The address was read by Mrs. Don Vinkle. Each couple was presented with a Knoehler platfonm rocker, also a chrome step stool to Mr. and Mrs. Cornish and a bridge set (table and chairs) to Mr. and Mrs. Jones. Each in turn expressed their thanks to thein well-wishers. Mn. Laing then called on two former school teachers of Bud and Fae's, Mr. Laurence Savery, Oshawa, andJ Mr. Frank McMullen, Toronto, who both recalled pleasant memories of former days in Newtonville.
