Mrs. Winter has made a unique contribution to the motel in that one of her oil paintings has been placed in each of the 38 units of the motel as well as the restaurant and dinling-room portions. Meditation by the leader. President Alvin Spencer was chairman and Mrs. Clarence Werry acting secretary for brief business. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Woods,- Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Glover were named as a committee for the fîrst autumn meeting, to be beld in November. Recreation was conducted by the committee. An Easter pa- rade featured decorated bats, originally styled and modelled by those present. The panel of judges were class members who came without an Easter hat. Walter Davis won the prize for the funniest and Mrs. Alvin Spencer for the prettiest bat. The TV game "I've Got a Secret" revealed some startling info»Ination about contestants. HARVEY GILBANK A resident of Manvers town- ship for the past 55 years, Mrs. Harvey ..Gilbank died in Peter- borough Civic Hospital on April 13,- in ber 75th year. The former Alvina Wright was born in Clark township the daughter of John Wrig-at and Emma C-'oper. She lived there until the age of 20 when she moved to Manvers town- ship wbere she spent the rest of her life. Surviving are her husband Harvey E. Gilbank, a daugha. ter Mrs. Wilfred Lunn (Arlene) of Peterborough and six sons, EarI, Clifford and Wesley of Pontypool, Leonard of Little Britain, Kenneth of Burketon, and Raymond Gilbank of Nes- tleton. There are also 29 grand children and three great grand children and four brothers Frank of K.inmount, Robert., Ivan and Wesley of Janetville and twa sisters Mrs. Lavern: McGill (Mary of Janetville an.d Mrs. W. Cain (Sepha) of Pan-~ typool. During her lifetime she was a member of Ballyduff Presby- terian church. After resting "at the homne of ber son Clifford1 Gilbank, funeral services were held April 15, in Ballyduff cburch and burial was in Bal- lyduff cemnetery. Rev. Banspiel! of Bethany offîciated. Paîl bearers were Percv Preston, Keith and Alvin Mit- chell, Carl Porter, Lloyd Fallis and James McMullen. Observer, "Good Friday Then j and Now" by Kathleen Morri-~ son. Mrs. Dawson Beebe read an Easter message "God's An- swer to the World's Despai.r and Fear". By request Mrs. D. Haines sang "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied on piano by Mrs. Helen McHolm. It was very pleasant ta have Mr-. Haines with us again after s long a time of pain Énd suffer- ing. Using two strong canes she is now able to walk froin room to roomn and take part in social affairs. A dainty lunch was served around the dining-roomn table' where ail could join in social chat. Grace was said by Mrs. William McHolm and Mrs. Dawson Beebe proposed a vote of thanks to the hostess also to the lunch committee, Mrs. .D. Haines and Mrs. Morton in- derson. Sunday School was held at il a.m. an Easter Day. There were 49 present. The session was conducted by the aUsistant superintendent, Mrs. Wnr. Mc- Holm. Ail teachers were pres- ent to enjoy the special pro. gram. The theme of Easter joy was expressed in hymans, pray- ers and lesson. Elaine Anderson sang very sweetly, "The Old Rugged Cross" which was much appreciated. Mrs. Helen McHolm accompanied Elaine on the piano. The lovely spring sunshine, happy faces of the children in their gay Easte-r bonnets and Easter liles al combined ta make the session something very special. Mrs. Mary Simpson of To- ronto. spent the Easter week- end with her sister, Miss M. Beckett. Miss Joan Marvin was guest of ber cousin, Miss Vivian Mit- chell, Port Hope, during the Easter holiday.
