Brock ----766, The Super "88" Holiday SceniCoupe is one of two new body styles offered by Oldsmobile in 1959. The Oldsmobile has been completely restyled, with more glass arca, passengeal and luggage space and a host of engineering and accessory advancements. Steering is casier. There are new Air-Scoop brakes on ail four whecls. Two new engines will mean greater operating eccnomy. The windshicld, with up ta 570 square inches more glass, cuts deep into the roofline to give an unhindcred vicw o! overhanging traffic signais. The wide, heat- resistant band across the top of the tinted rear window reduces heat penetration by about 84 per cent. Sculptured twiri booms swecp full length along the body, highlighting Oldsmobile's unique two-tone styling for 1959. I Soccer M For the second straight ycar Maple Grave downed Zion in the finals ta capture the' league championship for the third con- secutive year. The rcpeating chamlps built Up a big first bal! edge to take the game by a 4.1 count, despite Zion's return ta form in the second stanza. The teams had split the first two games in the best of three scr- les, but the losers couldn't re- capture their passing ability soon enough ta threaten seriaus- ly in the deciding encaunter. Mort Richards' drive, which bad-hopped into the net, open-1 ed the scaring early in the first hall. Ray Preston hcaded in John Fowler's near-pierfcct corner kick mid-way through the haîf ta give the winners a 2-0 edge. Five minutes before the intermission. Preston re- turned the favour when he sent 1: igh11gb fs Fowler into the clear with a neat pass. Fowlcr raced in ahane ta send a bullet drive just under the cross bar ta complete a pioture-play goal. Zion mi.ssed severai fine scor- ing oppartunities when they put on a determined drive to start the second half, Bobby Nemis, piaying a great game for the lasers, broke in twice in the opening minutes, but couldn't find the mark. Garret Bownees- ter shot wide of the goal on a penalty shot, and when he xvas given a second chance because goalie Alvin Stacey maved toa soon, he missed again. That was the game. Although Bownces- ter finally connected on Nemis' foui kick, the drive went out of the Ziap attack, and Dick Denhertog belted in Mort Rich- ards' pass ta score the clincher from close in. Juveniles Drop Opener ln O.B.A. Finals Hr With Walkerton Squad By Jim Clarke Walkerton's st urdy flinger, Allan Steinhoff, muted Bow- manville Juveniles with a neat five biter last Saturday at Vin- cent Miassey Park that ended 6-1 for the visitors. It was the first game in a best-of-tbree playoff for the Juvenile "B,' Ontarlo Championship. Second game will be in Walkerton on Saturday. A torrential downpour jusi before game time forced an hour's delay in starting. Drag- ging operations managed ta put the mound and infield in pass- able condition with parts o! the outfield floating under water. The opening frame shunted Waikerton inta a two run bulge which they neyer gave up. Coach Bob Williams naminated Bob Osborne for slab duty for Bowmanville, but Ôzz ran inta trouble early on. Lobsinger poked a single ta left, Murray walked and O'Breeht laid down a bunt which Osborne fîelded cleanly, wheeled and fired ta third ta cut off the runner. Un- fortunateiy, nobody was caver- ing th-, bag and Lagsinger scor- cd on the play. Meyer caused, more diffieulty when he siash- cd a happer to Abbot an third. The rced bead handhed it a littîci slowly and tossed a high once ta Bill Osborne on first ta give the visitors another unearned run. Bob Osborne was relieved at this paint by Bill Bates who proceeded ta clear the siate with three strikeouts. Boxvînanville bad one o! their two b g opportunities in the se- cond but lb ended with no dam- age. After two were out, with Abbott and Pollard an bases Th-e Statesman Sold At Following Stores Reg. The score went ta 4-0 in the third when Lobsinger hit a double down the left line ta score twa of his team-mates- again with two out. It *lumped ta 5-0 on another twa out situa- tion when Murray cracked a triple over Curt Vanstone's headj in the fourth. The homesters almost macle it in the fifth, after a waik. twa errars and an R. "Fuizy" in a desperation lunge, speared the baIl on his stom- ach, and flipped ta first. Masion had a hapless eveniag at the dish, as did Abbott and Pollard. Billy Bates hurled dazzlîngiy, but bis mates were a littie shaky in the early stages. Steinhof! flung a glittering game, and is a cool, serious worker.
