Mesdames Shirley Stainton and Eleanor Werry for their regular mon- thly meeting. Rev. Bîgby's sermon with its titie "The True Christian" was a clear cut list of qualifications to measure Up in God's sight, as man sees the out ward signs but God looks on the heart, our minister quoted. The standard of the True Christian requires (a) Repentance, (b) Faith, (c) Justification. Mrs. Chambers and ber Sr. Choir gave a musical message in the Anth- em "Lord for Thy Tender Mercy's Sake". Sunday School s opening worship was conducted by, Misses Barbara Ashton, and Sharon Werry with pianist Brian McGill . Thespca offering received by Wayne Bigby and Donna Lamb will be used to assist a needy Universitv Theology student. A tiny voice from the Beginn- ers' Class gave the hymns.a real lift which was like an aria without lyrics. -(an opera soprano in embryo perhaps.) Other fresh faces at the morning services were a pleasing sight. 'Please comne again. 11 For the next two Sundays there will be joint services for the Tyrone and Enniskillen congregations when Sunday, Oct. 21st. at il.15 a.m. Enniskillen Thank Offering with guest Minister Rev. Basil Long. Sunday Oct. 28th. at 11.15 a.m. at Tyrone Rev. L. Bigby will preach. Special music by our two choirs. Due to the change of time for the morning services, our S.S. session will be at 10 arn. fo r the next two Sundays. Ladies remember the U.C.W. autumn Preshyterial at Blackstock United Church next Monday Oct. 22nd. The Enniskillen 1 met in the church basement on Tuesday October 9 at 7p.m. for the fifth meeting. Ten members were present. We opened with the pledge. We answered the rol cail. Sandra Werry demon- strated a table piece which could be used for Thanksgiv- ing or Hallowe'en. W a talked about our skit. We decided to have a party in the Commun- ity hall. Mrs. C. J. Austin, Bowman- ville, recently visited with Mrs. O. C. Ashton. We regret to report the sudden death of Mr. Lorne Butson in Toronto who was a former resident for a few years in our village when he acquired many friends. Mr. and Mrs. O. C., Ashton were at a "wlcome home" at Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wordens' Bowmanville R.R. 2 for Mr. and Mrs. Keith Worden and Richard who travelled thr- ough eastern Ont., Quebec and Vermont U.S.A. on a week's vacation., Mrs. E. A. Werry, Mrs. Ella Bowman, Mrs. Allan Werry, Miss Sandra Werry, were Sunday luncheon guests at Mrs. Ross Lee's, Kedron, in honor of a bride-to-be Miss Dorothy Walters, Harmony Road. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sharp, Linda and Janet were Thanks- giving weekend guests of Mrs. H. W. Gregg, Glen Burnie, Maryland. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Beckett, attended the Alldread-Hendry wedding in Tyrone Church, Friday afternoon and recep- tion after in the Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lamb and Lesley were visitors at Mr. and Mrs. Francis Humm- el's, Lindsay. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Virtue, and girls were Sunday tea guests with Mr. and Mrs. Murray Sanderson, Colum- E. Stainton. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Both- well, Bowmanville were Sun- day supper guests at Mr. and Mrs . C. Stainton's. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Lamb, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Milton Stainton to Peterbor- ough, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Towns. Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Wright, Toronto, spent the weekend at home with Mr. and Mrs. E. Wright also visited Mr. and Mrs. Chartes Ashton, Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. E: R. Taylor, attended the Golden Wedding on Sunday of Mr. -and Mrs. Lorne Duff, Port Perry, also vsited Mr. and Mrs. Glen Larmer, Blackstock.
