The Hall and tables were decorat. ed with gold and bronze mums from the garden of Mr. and Mrs. Sam VanCamp. A carna- tion corsage was pinned on each lady and a boutonaire on the gentlemen, a thoughtful gift from Lloyd Metcalf, a former resident. Colin Soulter, on behalf of the elders, welcomed the guests. Rev. D. harris intro- duced the Elders and their wives who had arranged, prepared and served the dinner. Mr. Harris led in a sing song with Mrs. Wm. Laird at the piano, while the tables were being cleared and removed. Mrs. L. C. Snowden thanked the elders on behalf of the guests for the dinner and the opportunity to visit and recall past memories. Rev. and Mrs. harris show- ed slides of their first Mission Charge in South Saskatche- wan near the Montana border. These were enjoyed both by those who have travelled west and those who have never seen the prairie country with its large grain fields and immen- se equipment for harvesting, the oil drilling operation, as well as the disaster to crops caused by hail .and the mud encountered by Mr. Harris in performing his pastoral dut- les. The Senior Citizens are grateful to all responsible for a lovely even- ng. 4-H Club News The Maple Grove 4-H Enter- tainers held a buffet supper at their last meeting. The presi- dent Marian Vandergaast wel- comed the visitors and memb- ers and invited everyone to partake in a delicious meal prepared by all the girls. The table was enhanced by a beautiful flower arrangement by Rose Vandergaast. After the first course the girls lit candles on a heart-- shaped cake and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to our treasurer, Lorraine Cullen. Then we all enjoyed several deserts and the tables were cleared. Marian opened the meeting by asking Chris Stiver to give a talt on our extubit for Achievement Day, "A Table Set for Two". The roll call "What Ihave gained from this project" was well answered. One answer was "two pounds". The girls were reminded to hand in their record books and hostess reference files totheir leaders by Thursday Nov. 15. Mrs. Vandergaast conducted two games which the girls thor- oughly enjoyed. Mrs. Prescott read an article "A Girl's-Eye View of Love". Then of course there was cleaning up with every girl doing ber part. The girls are to be at the church at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 24 to go to Clarke High School for Ach- ievement Day.
